These voluntary benefits are designed to help strengthen your overall benefits package and provide additional protection for you and your family through fixed benefits paid directly to YOU.

› Supplement your medical plan. Benefits are paid in addition to other coverage you may have.
› Cost effective. Your premium is conveniently deducted from your paycheck at a low group rate.

Accidental Injury Insurance
Here’s How It Works
Accidental Injury Insurance provides benefits to help cover unexpected costs associated with a non-work-related accident. If a covered injury occurs, this plan pays benefits regardless of any other insurance coverages. Cigna will send a check for covered injuries; you decide the best way to spend it.

It can help you with out-of-pocket costs that your medical plan doesn’t cover, like co-pays and deductibles.
You’re guaranteed base coverage, without answering health questions.
The cost is conveniently deducted from your paycheck.
You can keep your coverage if you change jobs or retire. You’ll be billed directly.

Situation: Chloe broke her leg playing soccer.
Chloe’s covered benefits:

Critical Illness Insurance

Critical Illness Insurance helps with the extra expenses associated with your recovery. If you are diagnosed with a covered illness, you will receive a lump-sum cash benefit — even if you receive benefits from other insurance coverage.
Why is this coverage so valuable?
The money can help you pay out-of-pocket medical expenses, like co-pays and deductibles. You may also the lump-sum payment to pay for other expenses such as rent/mortgage, utilities or car payments as a few examples.
Critical Illness Benefit Example:
Situation: Marco had a heart attack while raking leaves.
Marco’s covered benefits:

Hospital Care Insurance

Hospital Care Insurance
Pays a fixed cash benefit directly to you when you experience a covered hospital stay, for events like an in–patient procedure or
childbirth.
